Hello there – you found me! I am the Institute of Cute and I fancy myself as the cutest little corner of cyberspace…but of course, I am biased…
I was born in 2008 – what a wonderful year! My Chief Artomologist and founder (mother?), Jane Davenport discovered the perfect space to create her Concept Store in Byron Bay, Australia. It was filled with Jane’s artwork, fashion range, stationery ranges, jewellery, homewares and toy designs. And somehow, what should just have been an ordinary store, developed it’s own entity – I came alive! It may sound unusual, ridiculous even, but here I am, with my own website!
I grew from the demand of ladybird fans from around the world for Jane’s optimistic and inspiring design.Until now, my online presence was tucked under Jane’s wing, but I decided I needed my own space. I have welcomed so many visitors from around the world through my red-with-black-spots doors and I look forward to welcoming even more through my red-with-black-spot pages!
Now you may be aware that Jane loves ladybirds, but I love, love, LOVE them! So you will find I have demanded that Jane keep designing lots of ladybird and ladybug treasures for me to fill myself up with. Join in my Ladyblog and why not join our ‘Ladybird Letter’ club?
